Welcome!
I am thrilled to be the Democratic candidate for Colorado House District 39. My dedication in serving others speaks well of my ambitions. My experiences as a parent, a child advocate and 25 years as an employee in the healthcare industry have contributed to my overall awareness of the issues that every family faces today.
I have learned over the course of 15+ years that setting and achieving goals, whether personal or community oriented, cannot be done without blood, sweat and tears. It takes the strongest of convictions to prove to oneself, let alone a community, that we can accomplish what we set out to do.
My community involvement has given me a solid understanding
of the needs of the people in House District 39 and I will work hard to
advocate for our best interests at the state legislature. As a member of the APD Volunteer Victim
Advocacy program for the refugees from Hurricane Katrina who were flown to
Colorado by the military, I assisted families with their needs. I sit on
the accountability committees and am a member of the Parent Teacher
Organization for both Falcon Creek Middle School and Meadow Point Elementary
(Cherry Creek School District) and serve as the legislative liaison for Falcon
Creek Middle School. I am an
active member of the Small Business Chamber of Commerce and the American
Academy of Professional Coders.
